We use a soft tissue laser in our office that allows us to do minor gum surgery in a minimally invasive way. The Sapphire Diode Laser is used for the following procedures:
Treatment of deep periodontal pockets: By using a laser we are able to effectively clean the pocket while at the same time stimulating gum tissue growth and reattachment to the tooth.
Gum tissue reshaping (Gingivectomy): Instead of using a sharp scalpel (knife) the laser beam removes excess gum tissue and stops bleeding at the same time.
Removal of small benign growths in the mouth: The laser accomplishes this effectively without a lot of bleeding.
